From a student to A MemberElisha Meshack Mnyangowi

Helo Everyone, my name is Elisha Meshack, am 24 years old a member of Swahili Art Group, my art name is Lishy. I would like to share with you my testimony about art carrier since I joined Swahili Art Group.
I remember 2017, is when I found that I have a talent but did not understand where to start the art journey …while my family dependedon me. And day by day life went on, things changed. Then later 2018 on Thursday I remember walking around town and I found myself in place where there is outdoor gallery and professional artists there.
So I decided to join the group which is called Swahili Art Group, started as a student, I was taught from the scratch, sketching and all art procedures.
I learned different styles and techniques that helped me to find my inspiration and discover my own artist style.
Also I was taught how to run the business, like to have a budget before and expenditure, run a good cash analysis and any other financial practice that help me to manage the finance part of business. Also I have been given a chance to paint and display my paints and spread the message to the people and society.
And the good thing is now I am able to paint a high quality and good details paints. And get benefits from the group by being a member of the group to sell my paintings, and the money that I get I provide for sibblings and family.

From A student to A MemberRayson Felichismi Kisamo

My name is Rayson Felichismi Kisamo. I was born in 2000. I am the senior child in a family of four children.
I joined Swahili Art Group on march 2022 as any other Tanzanian youth facing challenges attaining my own basic needs without directly depending on my parents. As I was growing in Arusha city I came across my senior artists (painters at Swahili Art ) in Themi Living Garden and learned a lot.
With one year experience I gained a lot both income wise and artistic skills experience such ascustomer caring and other techniques.
My call out to other youths in Arusha city and all over Tanzania with special abilities (talents) are warmly welcomed to join Swahili Art and show their abilities to the outside world as your talents are the only permanent achievers of your dreams. So my advice to young talented artists to join Swahili art group to experience the main objectives and advantages as how to live as a real successful artist.

Amazing place to destress after being in the busy city full of traffic! I did the art lessons, which wear great! They guided you through the steps needed to make a great painting. Music, nature and good company. I would really recommend this place, but be sure you aren’t in a hurry. Take your time to destress!

JakeStarryExcellent art work and lovely gardens

We stumbled upon this art group in the lovely edible gardens whilst walking around in Arusha.

We were offered a tour of the art work and explanatuon of the projects focus on environmentalism, sustainability and exhibiting tanzanian culture. Would definitely recommend a visit.

A nice place to come and spend half an hour. Or even get involved with some painting yourself. Looks like there are some great workshops here to take part in.

A delight to create your own piece of art, with great guidance and a lovely setting The Swahili Art Group is fantastic. We met Rodgers after going to Themi Living Gardens (great food spot) and organised to come the next day. My girlfriend and I are not capable but artists but with Rodgers guiding us, teaching us and showing us tips, we came out with art we are both very happy with. Its a great setting, a wonderful team of artists, a great cause and an awesome day/afternoon activity. Highly recommend! Thanks a lot Rodgers!

Painting lesson What a great experience!!! If you are in Arusha and like art, this is the place where you can spend a very nice day. Rodger (one of the artists) is super friendly and will let you visit his art gallery, which is super nice and located in a lovely garden. I took painting lessons and could paint a zebra with the help of Rodger. Also, the lunch is organic food and is awesome! I recommend 100%.

Unexpected surprise, awesome I was taken there by one of the artists that showed me around. Jaw dropping. It's just such a nice project and place. It feels like a real forest in the middle of a busy city. I also eat there, and food was just delicious and so cheap. There is a vegetarian buffet (I happen to be vegetarian so this came in perfect), mango juice was incredible. The arts were lovely, esp the ones glooming at dark. Vegetable garden provides for the fresh ingredients. A real jewel

A beautiful forested art gallery that is magical! This art group was conceived and created by five young artists who have a creative sense that is fresh and fantastic. They have joined hands with the Themi Living Garden, a forest sanctuary along a frolicking stream in the middle of Arusha. The garden is a dreamy canvas of shaded greens and browns punctuated with shafts of golden sunlight where you can stroll while you meet the artists, see their natural studio workspace, and view their gallery of paintings displayed on easels along the garden paths. While enjoying the view and purchasing a painting or two, you’ll thank yourself if you time your visit to stay for lunch where you’ll have delicious, locally-grown vegetarian fare served in an open-air dining room ideally suited to the forest surroundings. I come here every year during my visit to Arusha and I love it every time! The women who prepare the delicious lunch are friendly and fun to talk to, and the artists are open and welcoming as only Tanzanians can be!

Hidden oasis in Arusha The best word to describe this place is WOW! Not only is it a gorgeous garden but there is a local art co-op that is stationed within the garden. It is within walking distance of most hotels and the clocktower making it an easy detour for any travel plans. When you first walk in, the hustle and bustle of Arusha fades away and you enter a paradise that grows native plants and crops. As you walk through you're welcomed to an outdoor art gallery with pieces created by the Swahili Art Group. The art is so beautiful, diverse, and on high quality canvas. The artists themselves are so friendly and welcoming and even give you detailed information on their pieces and process. Some of the pieces even have glow in the dark elements to really make them special. I bought 3 paintings because I couldn't decide! I will definitely be coming back for more home decor and to take one of the painting classes they offer! I could not recommend this enough, if you are in the area and looking for art this is THE place to go.

Hidden gem in the middle of Arusha. Themi Garden is a beautiful location and a nice escape from Arusha traffic. The artists at Swahili Art are talented, passionate, kind, and professional! If you are on safari and are in a hurry, you can support them by stopping by and buying paintings. But if you have spare time, definitely do a painting workshop with them! The artists are wonderful to spend time and learn with. They also do specific requests and will ship internationally -- unique to Arusha for sure!

Workshop painting This guys are great, full of passion and very professional. Also a good sense of humor and very fun to work with. We did a workshop in painting with 4 persons. We painted a picture/photo we've made while our safari. Personal guidance, good price and the result is the best souvenir you can buy. We also bought a bottle of wine to drink while painting, supermarket around the corner. Cheers!
